Thank you, Karl-Heinz FOLCK, for signing up for The Daily Me. Our search engine has combed the Internet for up to the minute news items that fit the profile you have so painstakingly filled out for us. Then, we weighted the probability that you would be interested in these articles against forms which showed what people with tastes similar to yours have liked reading in the past. And, then, we left shopping for our Halloween costume to the last minute, as we do every year, because we used the adrenaline rush to scare the little children who came to our door. In a good way. We would explain to any parents who might complain.

This year, we were considering something classic for our costume, like Frankenstein or Richard Nixon. Unfortunately, when we got to the pop-up Halloween store, the shelves were empty. Supply chain issues. We would have settled for multi-coloured makeup to give ourselves a ghastly pallor, but the drivers of the trucks that usually deliver them were all at the hospital with COVID. Our adrenaline levels went through the roof when we realized that we were probably going to have to open our doors to trick-or-treaters wearing a house robe and a hung over expression.

Who knew we could be scariest dressed as ourselves? Halloween truly is a time for self-discovery!

Enjoy,
The Daily Me Staff

History Is Colin

Four star General Colin Powell has died of complications from COVID-19. Praise for his career, which involved working in various capacities for four presidents, was immediate.

“He was a man of high principal who served as an inspiration to us all,” stated Tran Duc-Philla, who died in My Lai on March 16, 1968.

“He took on senior roles in the US government that no previous black man had ever been allowed to hold. He was truly a role model for people of colour,” said Mustaffa ibn Dreck, who died in Baghdad on March 20, 2013.

We Have A Button That Releases A Loud, “Hunh!” Whenever We Press It
We’ve Had To Replace The Button Seventeen Times Since Tuesday

Not a single Republican voted in favour of moving to discussion of a version of a voting rights bill watered down by Senator Joe Manchin in the hope that it would be adopted on a bi-partisan basis. They didn’t vote down the bill, mind you, they voted down debating the bill. Around the same time, Manchin was rumoured to be leaving the Democratic Party.

Have you ever noticed how “Hunh?” seems to be the most appropriate response to the news these days?

Black Lives Matter And The Assembly Of First Nations Are Pushing White Supremacy?
Sounds Like The Prime Minister Would Have Been Better Off Staying On Vacation

“We see the organizations of extremist groups on the far right and the far left that are pushing white supremacy, intolerance, radicalization, promoting hatred, fear and mistrust across borders but within borders, as well.”

– Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

Turnout Is The Key To Elections
As Long As You Can Suppress That, You’re Guaranteed To Lose!

Pity the poor Republic Party.

Any Republican politician who does not go along with the latest whims of former President Donald Trump can expect him to use his power over the Republican base to ensure they lose the next time they are up for reelection. So, they go along.

Injecting yourself with blue cheese is a cure for COVID-19? All the most reputable scientists say so! There were fine people on both sides of the Second World War? Heil Donald! If you don’t go along with the fantasy that the 2020 election was stolen by the Democrats, Republican voters may stay home and watch Donald Duck Dynasty in 2022 and 2024?

Gleep!

Donald Trump lost the popular vote in 2016 and 2020. He was responsible for Republicans losing the House and the Senate (although sometimes it’s hard to tell that they actually did) in 2020. He was a significant factor in the Republicans losing two special Senate races in Texas. Remember how he promised that under his leadership Republicans would get sick of winning? So far, they haven’t felt a single pang of discomfort, let alone pain.

On second thought, don’t pity the Republican Party. As the old saying goes: when you lie down with dogs, expect to wake up with primary challenges!

Mostly, They Talked About Golf, With The Occasional Comment On The Evils Of Immigration

It has come to our attention that former adviser to Donald Trump Steve Bannon has refused to answer any questions put to him by the House commission investigating the January 6 unpleasantness on the grounds of “executive privilege.” The executive he chose to name was Luciano “Lucky” deLuca former President of the Wawaneesa Group.

On behalf of the Wawaneesa Group, its affiliates, subsidiaries and general hangers-on, we would like to categorically refute this claim. deLuca has only met Bannon thrice, and at no time did the two men discuss anything that could be considered privileged. Not only that, but deLuca was not President of the company on January 6, so he was not covered by any sensible kind of privilege. Not only that, but the company’s lawyers are pretty sure that a corporate President cannot grant privilege for communications with the nation’s President.

We hope this is now clear. Please stop sending threatening emails to the board.
