The Daily Me - Ogden "Honshu" Gnash

Thank you, Ogden "Honshu" Gnash, for signing up for The Daily Me. Our search engine has combed the Internet for up to the minute news items that fit the profile you have so painstakingly filled out for us. Then, we weighted the probability that you would be interested in these articles against forms which showed what people with tastes similar to yours have liked reading in the past. And, then, we learned that Finland was ranked number one of 41 European countries on resilience to misinformation for the fifth survey in a row. How do they do it? A teacher explained that she presented her eighth graders with new articles and together they discussed: What is the purpose of this article? How and when was it written? What are the author's central claims?

That seems like a lot of work. We have a much simpler way of dealing with misinformation: don't believe anything on the Internet or television. We may not learn all that much this way, but in the battle between ignorance and misinformation, we believe remaining ignorant actually puts us ahead. Way ahead.

Enjoy,

Hey, Kids!

Did you know that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis found a cure for COVID? That's right! It's not that COVID was a serious disease. I mean, hardly anybody caught it, and catching it wasn't as bad as catching the flu. And everybody gets the flu and nobody dies, so that's okay. But Governor Ron knew that lots of people getting COVID could slow down the economy, so he used his spare time and weekends to find a cure.

That's the kind of caring politician he is.

He cares so much about illegal aliens caravanning their way across the border that he personally flies the planes that takes them to places like Washington, DC and the home of Vice President Kamala Harris. Why? Because he knows they'll get better treatment in those places than they would in his state. That's how compassionate Governor Ron is. Is the Governor licensed to fly a plane? Why would you let details like that get in the way of a mission of mercy? Governor Ron doesn't!

"This Shows How Much George Has Grown In The Last Couple Of Months," McCarthy Responded. "Time Was That He Would Have Claimed He Was President!"

Republican Representative George Santos will be seated on House committees despite the fact that during his campaign Santos had a staff member impersonate Speaker-in-waiting Kevin McCarthy's Chief of Staff.

"Youthful hijinks," McCarthy responded to the news, using a handkerchief to awkwardly wipe the sweat from his forehead. "George is older now - it's been an eventful few months. I'm sure he has learned his lesson and will grow into his committee assignments."

For his part, Santos responded, "Why wouldn't I get committee assignments? As the Speaker of the House, I have complete control over who gets seated where, and I wouldn't dream of stiffing myself!"

You Wonder Why Trust In The Supreme Court Is At An All Time Low? Perhaps It's In The Way They Make Monkeys Of Themselves...

After the draft ruling in the Supreme Court decision that ultimately struck down Roe v Wade was leaked, an outraged Chief Justice John Roberts demanded an investigation into the leak. To ensure that it would be fair, Roberts chose the Supreme Court's Marshall to conduct the investigation; who better to be apolitical than somebody who had never conducted an investigation before?

Hundreds of interviews were conducted. All of the Supreme Court Justices were questioned, although, unlike their clerks and aides, they were not asked to sign sworn affidavits, because if you can't trust Supreme Court Justices, who can you trust? The conclusion of the investigation can best be summed up by the following graphic:

Netanyahu Do You Think You Are?

Tens of thousands of Israelis gathered in Tel Aviv to protest changes to the judicial system which many claim are meant to protect Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is on trial for corruption.

"The changes include a provision that an Israeli Prime Minister cannot be prosecuted for anything, ever and ever, amen," explained protester Lior Lioroshet. "They're not even trying to hide what this is really about!"

In the interest of balance, we tried to get a response from Prime Minister Netanyahu, but he was too busy laughing to be able to answer any of our questions.

Listen

How American history is taught in Ron Desantis' Florida:

After the Civil War, blacks were given the right to vote.

Then,

In the 1960s, Congress passed civil rights legislation that made it easier for black people to vote.

Almost immediately,

In the 2000s, a broad left-wing coalition elected America's first black President, Barack Obama.

As

You can see, the United States of America has worked hard at perfecting its union, and, while there are always challenges, over the course of the country's history we have largely succeeded.
