Robust debate and dissent are signs of health in a political system, not distress, When party members can’t disagree or hold each other accountable without being labeled as dissenters, that’s when you inch towards a monolith, not a party. Unquestioned unity is the hallmark of autocracy, not democracy. The fact that there’s discord means there’s still room for democracy and individual thought within the party ranks.
