Thank you, Andromeda Galaxina, for signing up for The Daily Me. Our search engine has combed the Internet for up to the minute news items that fit the profile you have so painstakingly filled out for us. Then, we weighted the probability that you would be interested in these articles against forms which showed what people with tastes similar to yours have liked reading in the past. And, then, we couldn’t help but notice that right wingers who used to be all about “personal responsibility” were now all about “due process.” It reminded us of that ancient piece of wisdom: “A liberal is a conservative who has been accused of sexual misconduct.”
Okay, that piece of wisdom may not be so ancient. In fact, we may have just made it up. Still. Give it a couple of thousand years and who knows.
Enjoy,

When Confronted With The World’s Absurdities, I Always Ask Myself WWSD (What Would Shakespeare Do?)?
President Donald Trump has called Broward County Sheriff’s Deputy Scot Peterson a coward for not running into Stoneman Douglas High School after gunfire started. President Donald Trump, a man who got four deferments so he wouldn’t have to go to Vietnam and whose idea of warfare is sending angry tweets about enemies in the middle of the night, is calling somebody else a coward.
The Absurd Ironyometer is tempted to take arms against a sea of troubles and, by opposing, end them…buuuuut that would probably just make the problem worse. So, it is going to curl up into a ball and whimper in the corner instead.

Make Matters Worse, Probably – Certainly Make Them More Violent
I Suppose There Are Limits To This Wisdom…
As Marvel’s latest superhero movie, Thor: Ragnarok, draws praise and rakes in millions of dollars at the box office, Twitter trolls have emerged attempting to stoke racial division by spreading false reports about the film’s Caucasian American fans.
Over the last few days, users have posted false claims that they were attacked by White people dressed in heavy furs and helmets with horns. The posters frequently blame “White youth” for the attacks, using images of bleeding and battered faces or blood spraying on walls taken from Quentin Tarantino movies.
Police departments in New York, Los Angeles, Houston and Chicago said they have received no reports that would match the assault claims appearing online. “White folks just want to have a good time watching a film that reflects their lives and culture,” one officer stated. “Why can’t everybody else let them enjoy themselves?”

Life, Liberty And The Pursuit Of AR-15s – The American Birthwrong
Is that a gun sticking out of National Rifle Association President Wayne LaPierre’s head, or is he just glad to shoot you?
There is something…off about complaining that people who oppose you are into personal smears and then personally smearing them, but I can’t quite put my trigger finger on it. Could it be that LaPierre went to the cupboard of rational argument, but found it completely bare?
LaPierre went on to say that the right to bear arms is “not bestowed by man but granted by God to all Americans as our American birthright.” Remember when Jesus lobbied Congress to pass the Second Amendment to the Constitution. “Blessed are the gunmakers,” he said in an impassioned speech on the floor of the Senate, “for they shall protect the children in their schools.”
It’s hard to know which is more deplorable: the fact that there is a man whose job it is to convince Americans to love guns more than their own children, or the fact that he has been able to convince so many of them.

Rebel Without A Reasonable Rate of Return
By creating the Rebel Freedom Fund, Rebel Media, a pioneer in twisted, hate-filled logic, hopes to be part of the bleeding edge of a new movement in finance: unethical investing.
The premise is simple: park your money in the RFF and watch Ezra Levant invest it in documentary films that promote the white supremacist lifestyle, TV shows that promote the white supremacist way of life, online apps that promote white supremacism and possibly real estate. You might get four per cent returns on your investment, or the whole project could go tits up. But, at least they would be white, heterosexual male tits, and that’s really the point of unethical investing, isn’t it?
Some critics of Rebel Media have pointed out that unethical investing has always been with us, or stocks in cigarette and gun manufacturers wouldn’t be listed on exchanges. Levant replied, “You – don’t you think – don’t you even – you’re obviously a commie dupe who has no idea how capitalism works!”

Teacher And President Have Bad Chemistry Together: You Could Say They Are Like Fire And ICE
According to President Trump, immigration policy is intended to rid America of “the worst of the worst,” “savage” intruders intent on raping and pillaging the country. Savages like beloved chemistry professor Syed A. Jamal?
Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee-Sanders had the grace to shift uncomfortably at the podium before responding, “Do you not have television sets? Because you wouldn’t be asking me about that if you had ever seen Breaking Bad!”

It’s Wayne’s World – We Just Die In It
On December 14th, the fifth anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, President Trump invited Wayne LaPierre, the head of the National Rifle Association, to a meeting at the White House. The President caught some flak for this, but, be fair – there’s hardly a day in the year that isn’t the anniversary of some gun massacre somewhere in the country!

Listening To “The Captain And Me,” On The Other Hand…
York Regional Police tweeted that marijuana doesn’t cause birds to grow out of the breasts of men who use it, after one of its officers told high school students at a panel last week that “doobies make boobies.”
“We’re no health experts,” York police tweeted, “but we don’t know of any cases of seabirds in the genus Sula sprouting out of men’s chests because of marijuana use. Would that be some kind of genetic mutation or something? Like, how would that even work? #confused”
Critics of the police suggest that York Regional Police might want to reconsider holding weekly David Cronenberg movie nights.
