Thank you, fearofawhiteplanet, for signing up for The Daily Me. Our search engine has combed the Internet for up to the minute news items that fit the profile you have so painstakingly filled out for us. Then, we weighted the probability that you would be interested in these articles against forms which showed what people with tastes similar to yours have liked reading in the past. And, then, actor Yvette Mimieux died. We would have written a song to praise her for being one of our first on-screen crushes, but then we heard that Marvin Lee Aday, who performed under the stage name Meat Loaf, had died, and we lost our enthusiasm to make music. Instead, we considered telling a joke to lighten the sombre mood, but before we could write one we learned that comedian Louie Anderson had died, which put the kibosh on that plan.
So, mostly, we listened to Depeche Mode songs all day. Well, to be accurate, one Depeche Mode song in particular...
Enjoy,

I Learned From The Master
There's an old quotation that American Republicans seem rather fond of: "It is better to rule in Hell than serve soft ice cream to precious snowflakes who want to take away your guns and use Critical Race Theory to indoctrinate your children to hate their own whiteness!" Former President Donald Trump may have paraphrased the original saying. He does that. He's a paraphraser. When he was young and forgot the words to the national anthem, he would make up his own. His father was rich, so nobody corrected him when he started singing about "the rocket's red bears" and "gave poof to the right that the hag was still hairy."
That explains a lot. Unless it explains nothing. The former President's personal history can be inscrutable that way.
Note that Trump has gone from denying that COVID existed to admitting that it existed, but insisting that it wasn't that bad to arguing that, okay, maybe it is pretty bad, but vaccines don't work (try bleach, the quickest way to solve all your problems!) to they're keeping vaccines away from white people because...reasons. The fact that he missed a step (you know, the one where he allows that vaccines do work) is a tribute to how much he values the intelligence of members of his base.
Why the latest pronouncement? Somebody must have taken Trump aside and told him that killing off members of his base was a bad way of winning elections. And you know what the leader of the deplorable world always says: "When you're in a tight race, make racism!"
I may be paraphrasing a little.

Except For A Maskless Justice Neil Gorsuch, Who Has A Tattoo That Reads: "The Most Deadly Virus In A Century? Bring It On!"
The Supreme Court has ruled against the Occupational Safety and Health Administration mandate that workers at businesses with 100 or more employees get vaccinated or submit a negative COVID test weekly before being allowed to enter the workplace. At the same time, they required lawyers who had been diagnosed with COVID to make their arguments remotely, because goodness knows they didn't want that danger in their workplace!
The Absurd Ironyometer wouldn't want to argue with the Supreme Court - even though that's their basic function - but it didn't feel it could let this - wait, was that...a tickle in its throat? And that cough - was it just something that went down the wrong way, or...? Did somebody turn up the heat in the room, because it's feeling awfully ho - oh, no! It couldn't be! The Hypocrisy Leader Board was looking really rough the other day - could it have passed the virus on to the Absurd Ironyometer when they were working in adjacent cubicles the other day?
If only there were rules to prevent things like that from happening!
